“I think harmful critique comes in with misinformed critics, critics who are unaware, or critics who are pretending they know more than they do… By using such a “position” they can destroy the creative drive and creative flow of the artist. I think the most harmful critique can destroy the empathetic drive or dreams of honest and authentic artists… Whether it be for the critic to appear as aware or enlightened or for some other purpose, or because they are looking too much at the art as the end all be all and not at the artist on a journey. The artist path is a journey, and critics should understand this as the worst thing a critic can do is in fact viewing a smaller picture as the big picture, though I would hope artists are capable and strong enough to handle any and all criticism, though they ought not to have to hear certain criticisms ever.”
